SPARTANBURG, SC – Mary Black Physicians Group (MBPG) welcomes four new healthcare providers.
MBPG Cardiology welcomes Jack Dobkin, D.O., FACC, and Michelle Runyans, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC.
Dr. Dobkin is an experienced interventional cardiologist who completed training in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. Dr. Dobkin has a wealth of experience and expertise in all aspects of interventional and general cardiology, including advanced techniques such as orbital atherectomy and mechanical support devices.
Michelle Runyans is a member of the South Carolina Nurses Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Runyans earned her nursing degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina and her MSN, AGACNP from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
MBPG Surgical Specialties welcomes Dennis Mayer, M.D., FACS Dr. Mayer is a general surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Mayer earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completing his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, Dr. Mayer pursued further training through a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Parkland Hospital/Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Texas. While serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Dr. Mayer was appointed the Department Head of General Surgery for the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan. Upon his return to the states, he served as a general surgeon/colon rectal surgeon for the Navy Medical Center in San Diego, California. Dr. Mayer has operated as a private practice general surgeon/colon rectal specialist since 2000.
MBPG Urology welcomes Deborah Anderson, NP. Ms. Anderson completed her degree in nursing from Simmons College School of Nursing in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Carolina’s Mary Black School of Nursing in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Deborah began in healthcare as a Respiratory Therapist in neonatal intensive care. After many years as a nurse, she pursued further education and training to become a nurse practitioner. Her special interests include women’s urological needs and the needs of patients who are disabled or injured.
The community is invited to meet all four providers at a reception on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. in the main lobby of Mary Black Health System located at 1700 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg.
