SPARTANBURG, SC – Mary Black Physicians Group (MBPG) Primary Care Cedar Springs welcomes John Burrell, M.D. He earned his medical degree at University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Columbia, SC and completed his residency with AnMed Health in Anderson, SC.
Dr. Burrell was born at Mary Black Hospital and raised in Spartanburg. Growing up around doctors, he enjoyed seeing the difference they made in their patients’ lives. He is interested in developing long-term relationships with his patients, so he can better understand them as individuals. Prior to returning to Spartanburg to join MBPG Primary Care Cedar Springs, Dr. Burrell was an independent family physician with Irmo Primary Care in Columbia, South Carolina. He has also practiced medicine at Palmetto Health and Bon Secours Health System in Greenville. Dr. Burrell’s wife, Jessica Reynolds, is a physician, and they have twin girls – Sophie and Gracie, and a Golden Retriever named Maggie. Dr. Burrell enjoys hunting, reading, travel and his family.
