SPARTANBURG, SC – Dr. Griffin Cupstid, with Mary Black Physicians Group (MBPG) Carolina Family Physicians, has been appointed to serve as a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians’ (AAFP) Commission on Quality and Practice (CQP) for a four-year term which began on December 15, 2016.
CQP is one of seven commissions that direct AAFP policies and programs. The commission works to improve the practice environment of family physicians. It directly supports the AAFP’s Strategic Objective on Practice Enhancement. The commission studies and develops recommendations, policies and programs for family medicine in the following areas: health care delivery systems, performance measurement, practice redesign/quality improvement, privileging, health information technology, practice management, private sector advocacy and physician payment.
The commission meets face-to-face twice a year in February and June and works between meetings to accomplish the commission’s work.
